Antique Radio Repair
I offer affordable professional repair services for most antique radios between 1930 and 1960 with up to 8 tubes – with the entire process documented here so you can read about how your radio was repaired while listening to it playing in your home. For examples of the previous work I’ve performed, visit the Portfolio.

I offer flat-rate labor based on the complexity of the radio you’re sending to me. Most repairs are included in the flat per-socket fee but occasionally additional parts may be required. All fixed resistors and capacitors that require replacement (and the labor to replace them) are included in the socket fee, but extra non-standard repairs such as replacing burned out transformers, bad speakers, open coils, or dead tubes will incur a small additional charge for the part and the installation labor.
To get started, you’ll send me your radio along with a $25 estimate fee and a signed service agreement. I recommend also including a prepaid return label. I will fully check the radio’s electrical condition and inform you of my findings. If you accept the repair quote, the estimate fee will be applied to the cost of the radio repair. If you decline, I’m happy to return your radio along with an analysis of the findings for your records, or I can dispose of the radio at your option.
If you’re interested in engaging my services for repair of your antique radio, please contact me at jkoebel at gmail . com with the details of your make and model with photographs if possible. I’ll provide a brief visual inspection via e-mail and we’ll discuss arrangements for the repair, and provide additional contact information if you’d like to speak on the phone. Because of my low rates, I offer a typical turnaround time of 4-8 weeks depending on complexity and scheduling; if you’re interested in priority service, I can provide this for an additional fee.
